Taxiway Centerline Light-LED
Applications The TCL is a taxiway centerline
light that is used primarily as a ground traffic
aid during periods of low visibility to guide
aircraft between the runway and the parking
stand. The TCL is often a bidirectional light,
but it also may be a unidirectional light on
certain taxiways, such as high speed turnoffs.
With an average life span of 100,000-plus hours
(11 years),
IQ LEDs operate reliably year
after year and are virtually maintenance free.

PRO III ™Taxiway Centerline Light – LEDFAA L-852
May 14, 2004, Windsor, CT - Cooper Crouse-Hinds
Airport Lighting Products announces the release
of the Style III Taxiway Centerline Light family
of fixtures designed with LED technology. Our
PRO-III series is available in narrow and wide
beam configurations.
The new PRO III design enhancements include an
LED light engine that allows field retrofits to
LED technology from existing incandescent
fixtures without the need to purchase an entire
new PRO-III light fixture. This represents a
significant savings in the amount of parts to
stock, while also protecting customers’ initial
PRO-III light fixture investment. The new design
is the industry’s lowest energy consumption LED
product for Taxiway Centerline lighting.
The L-852 PRO-III series is fully compatible for
use alongside existing incandescent fixtures and
the LED light looks and functions like any other
inset Taxiway light on the airfield. Also, the
unique combination of high-strength aluminum
optical assembly and ductile iron outer ring
provide superior protection against
multi-functional snowplow equipment.
